Bath Rugby Foundation

Long-serving participant and volunteer to appear on Bath Rugby Clash shirt

One of Bath Rugby Foundation’s longest serving and most popular participants will be among the inspirational individuals who will appear on the Bath Rugby shirts at The Clash.
Hannah Piper has been involved with the Foundation for more than a decade, first as a participant and now as an inspirational volunteer.
The Foundation coaching team have seen the change from a youngster lacking self-confidence to an independent young woman who has a full-time job and passed her driving test.
Bath Rugby Foundation’s Caryl Thomas said: “Hannah has been involved with the Foundation for over 10 years. She is an inspiration and a fantastic role model to other students who have progressed through Fosseway School and Project SEARCH, gaining full time employment at the RUH and recently a promotion.
“She’s also very persistent, passing her driving test after her ninth attempt, which has allowed her to have increased independence and supporting other participants.
“She’s always been the Mum of the group, but now it’s growing to be more strategic, organising her own holidays and we are developing her to be a team manager for Walcot Warriors Mixed ability Rugby team.”
Hannah said: “I started off as one of the participants in the inclusive after school club on a Monday evening and from there I have built myself to get more involved in the foundation. I am still involved with the inclusive after school club, but I am a volunteer now.
“I also do Us Girls on a Tuesday night and Walcot Warriors every other Wednesday.
“It is a way of getting out and about, meeting people and socialising and it is something that I never had the confidence to do before.”
Hannah and her fellow ambassadors have all been specially selected as part of the Bath Rugby Foundation XV on Bath Rugby’s Clash shirts for displaying incredible determination to overcome the odds which has seen them achieve remarkable success.
The showpiece event – which takes place on Saturday 7th April at Twickenham Stadium – sees the West Country side face arch-rivals Leicester Tigers in a crucial Aviva Premiership battle.
Last April, over 61,000 people savoured a fantastic occasion and this year and, when The Clash returns next month, 15 ambassadors of Bath Rugby Foundation will be with Bath Rugby’s players on the field during the match – The Bath Rugby Foundation XV will all be incorporated into the special charity shirts the players will wear at the home of England Rugby.
