Our work Employability and skills development Hitz Learning Academy College not for you? No problem. If you’re aged 16-19 and not in education, employment or training, HITZ might be the answer. HITZ is the UK’s largest rugby union social inclusion programme. Almost 1.1m young people in the UK are not in education, employment or training. Just over half (53.6%) are looking for work and without action, we risk losing a whole generation to a cycle of unemployment, disillusionment and disengagement. This is where HITZ comes in. Using the ethos of rugby as a vehicle, HITZ develops grit, tenacity and perseverance – vital in the world of work. Our specialist coaches capitalise on sport’s ability to remove barriers, build trust and increase confidence to set students on the path to success. HITZ also responds to the crisis of physical inactivity among disadvantaged and vulnerable young people. 90% of students completing the course improve their numeracy, literacy and IT skills. At least 75% take on further education, employment, training, work placements or apprenticeships. The programme also gives students a qualification – a level 1 diploma in Sport and Active leisure. The BTEC-based education programme is delivered at the HITZ Learning Academy by our education providers, SCL, an approved BTEC centre. HITZ is Premiership Rugby's award-winning education and employability programme, which works with over 2,000 14-18 year olds across England every year. HITZ is funded by partners Land Rover, Comic Relief and Wooden Spoon. About the Bath HITZ Learning Academy At HITZ Bath, we are lucky to have access to some amazing facilities.
