Bath Rugby Foundation

A busy 2018 for Bath Rugby Foundation

This year is a big one for Bath Rugby Foundation: Our fifteenth birthday.

The foundation was born on the same day that Jonny Wilkinson kicked THAT drop goal in 2003 and we will be celebrating our milestone anniversary throughout 2018…..with plenty of opportunities for you to join us. We really appreciate all the support you have given us in the past and we would love to see you at some of these events.

The first major event we have planned, an evening with David Flatman, David Trick and Zach Mercer at the Ivy Bath Brasserie later this month sold out quickly….but we have plenty more events to suit all tastes.

For anyone considering a new year exercise challenge, the Bath Half Marathon is on the horizon. Although the race sold out to general entries months ago we still have a few spots on the start line for runners who would like to support the foundation. It is always a brilliant day and we’d love to see as many runners in our Bath Rugby coloured vests as possible on Sunday, March 4. Find out more here:

And for any gentlemen who want to exercise at a more leisurely pace, perhaps the reward of a pint of beer while watching Six Nations rugby at the finish line, the annual Bath Men’s Walk is taking place on Saturday March 17th. Last year more than 500 men joined the walk from Dorothy House’s Winsley base to the Rec, mainly along the canal to help raise funds not only for our foundation, but also to support the amazing work done by the team at Dorothy House. We have something really special planned for this year’s annual cycle ride: The Giro di Toscana, a three-day cycling challenge through the countryside of Tuscany in July. Riders can choose between 50 and 85-mile routes each day, with something for everyone, whether you have plenty of cycling experience or rarely climb on to a bike. Last year 70 riders took part in our French400 challenge, raising £50,000 and creating wonderful, lasting memories in the process. For more information, please email [email protected]

There will be plenty more chances to get support the Foundation’s work and celebrate our birthday this year, with some major events still to be announced.
