16-19? HITZ might be for you

If you’re looking to get back into education, employment or training, we can help.

HITZ is Premiership Rugby’s award-winning education and employability programme which works with over 2,000 16-19 year-olds across England every year. HITZ uses rugby’s core values of teamwork, respect, enjoyment, discipline and sportsmanship to get young people not in education, training or employment (NEET) back into education, training, apprenticeships and/or employment.

People who take part in HITZ leave us with new qualifications in Maths, English or Sport as well as picking up vital employability skills to secure work placements and job opportunities.  We have brilliant links with local businesses who are willing to take a shot on our most hard working students, offering work experience, mock interviews and sometimes jobs to those who impress them.

We believe that sport is good for the body and the mind and boosts the confidence of our participants, getting them back into a routine and healthy lifestyle. That’s why we offer free use of Fitness First Bath every day, set up various sports sessions throughout the programme, as well as organising fun days out to play battle archery, paintball, or take a trip to a waterpark.

We are now recruiting for our September cohort which is due to start on Monday 18th September 2017.

The next 20 weeks could change your life. Get in touch.

If you would like to gain more of an insight into HITZ then please see below for upcoming key HITZ dates:

21st – 25th August 2017 –  @The Recreational Ground (BA2 4DS).

This week will be a trial week for anyone who wishes to explore further what the HITZ project entails. Throughout this week we will be doing tasters of the project including actively completing gym sessions at Fitness First, taking part in a variety of sports sessions including rugby, football, badminton, basketball and more, and a visit to Farleigh House, the training facility of Bath Rugby to potentially meet some players who are involved with the HITZ project. This week will allow the young people to see how they get on traveling to and from the project and the best mode of transport considering their expenses are paid by the project. This week also ties in with GCSE Results Day. So if you know of anyone following receiving their results on the 24th who expresses HITZ as a next step they can attend on the 25th for an open day visit.
