Fancy finding out more about Bath Rugby Foundation and network with other local Bath businesses? On 19th January we will be hosting another ‘Friends of the Foundation’ event on Thursday, January 19th, 2017 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Thrings LLP, 2 Queen Square, Bath, BA1 2HN.
Representatives from Thrings, Novia, BMT, Savills, Barclays, Apex Hotels, Bath Racecourse, St John’s Hospital, Aquarius Homes, and other local businesses will be in attendance for the ‘Employability’ focussed session.
9% of UK teenagers aged 16-18 are NEET (not in education, employment or training). With students now obliged to stay in education or training until 18, many are pushed towards further education despite not enjoying school. Being NEET puts significant pressure on both the student and the parents. Young people lose confidence, and struggle to find routes out of the spiral.
Our employability programmes are designed to enable participants to stand up, step out of the cycle and get back into employment or training. The programmes use rugby to create team spirit and build confidence. This is matched with tailored sessions to build work skills – from creating C.V.s to work experience in local businesses. Some of our participants will gain Maths, English and Sports qualifications whilst they are with us, enabling them to move forward with their new found skills.
We want to speak to our friends in Bath and find out how we can work together to enhance these young people’s lives. From volunteering time to offering work placements. This Friends of the Foundation event will make connections and change local lives.
If you would like to attend please RSVP to Halena.Coury@bathrugby.com
