Urban Rugby Squad
Urban Rugby Squad is a ground-breaking initiative that sees young people aged 14-16 from disadvantaged communities across England given the opportunity to participate in regular sporting activity and personal development workshops that use rugby as inspiration. The programme builds on the Foundation’s existing inclusion projects, which aim to get young people ready for the world of work. The programme uses the values of rugby: camaraderie, loyalty, discipline and respect to build confidence beyond their day to day environment and strive to be the best.
Over the course of the programme participants will be introduced to the game, with practical sessions built around personal workshops that focus on areas including anger management, drugs/alcohol misuse, sexual health and physical fitness assessment.
If you’d like to take part in our Urban Rugby Squad email Outreach Officer Joe (firstname.lastname@example.org) to find out where our sessions will be taking place this year.
