Get active into work
The number of people in work in B&NES currently stands at 76.7%, lower than regional and national rates. Accessibility of work and transport certainly plays a part. And long term unemployment leads to a loss of confidence. When a door is closed, it’s hard to know how to get back on track and find new paths to success.
Our dedicated employability coaches are here to help you find renewed energy, and for some, a new career. Get Active into Work is a twelve week programme for people aged 16 and over who are not in employment, training or education. Participants range in age from 16 – 60. There really is no age limit. And our coaches can help you at any time in life. Taking part in Get Active into Work will give you a Level 2 in Community Sport Leadership award – giving you new skills and a qualification. It also addresses wider life skills such as money management, project planning and a first aid course. You’ll spend two days a week with us for eight weeks, followed by a work placement with either the Council or one of our partner organisations.
